my poetic eyes Piece: “Hopes and Dreams” and reflection

As the task for ” My poetic eyes”  required us to document reflecting national events I decided to voice my concerns surrounding the way the pressures expectations that parents and culture may have on their children and the long lasting damage this may leave. This is a wide spread issue that does not get much attention at all as such family matters usually stay private. In terms of me addressing is as a world spread issue I attempted to use images of people from different ethic backgrounds and ages also to imply to the viewer that the effects of this can follow into adult hood.Even though my images may encorperate different cultures i still could of used more statistical information to prove that this in fact is a world wide issue In my archiving of material I am pleased with my variation of fitting resources. In my poetic piece there had been a range of video’s, supporting images and gif’s. Why I think my my collection of images act as a strengthening factor in my work is due to the fact that they supported the words of the piece with out being an exact representation /portrayal of the words allowing an emotional response from the audience. One factor I would like to alter is my lack of attention to the importance of setting mood through choice of colours, though my images were from different sources and some un alterable i still could of paid more focus to creating a consistent colour scheme to focus the audiences’ attention to interpreting the images  instead of random bursts of colour that hold no useful connotations.

  1. Nunya,

I have been through all your blog posts, some excellent stuff here! In terms of the P2P on Russeini you have a great story, character and visuals. What YOUR visual style in more detail? I need to get a sense of location, lighting, audio and pacing of the finished piece. You are really considering all the implications of doing a piece on spoken word and the implications of audio – image. Well done.

Remember our role is not to explain. Covering a passion in 3 minutes is a challenge so do not try to fit too much in, better to tell a few tales well than cram in a lot of information. Look at it as a visual mood piece rather than a promography. Spoken word is the poetry of our times – it would be good to make an audience feel that don’t you think?

Very good to see the MPE Reflection also. Overall impressive.
